Les mots du rêve
Abstract
This article places the dream, the dreamwork, and the interpretation
of dreams at the heart of the analytic process. With Freud, Pontalis, and
Guillaumin, the author views the dream as a visitor from afar who, in
addressing the analyst, is not meant to be contemplated but rather interpreted
by following the uneven pathway of free associations. Clinical examples
illustrate the diverse functions of the dream.
Keywords
dream “ factory,” dream address, dream functions, discourse and free association
